Dexter Story is an artistic spirit in the truest sense of the phrase. From his work as a multi-instrumentalist for acts like the Sa-Ra Creative Partners, to his management role with Snoop Dogg and his turn producing Daymé Arocena's 2017 album Cubafonia, Story understands the business from every conceivable angle. Initially inspired by the music and cultures pervasive throughout the Horn of Africa, Story translated his experiences there into his previous album Wondem (SNDW 076CD/LP, 2015), followed closely by the single "Wejene Aola" featuring jazz luminary Kamasi Washington (SNDW 7022EP), both on Soundway Records. If Wondem was a brief glance into Story's new creative vision, Bahir is a pinpoint refinement of that purpose, the fine-tuning and expanding of the world he created on his Soundway debut. On Bahir, Story steps in front of those influences and melds his world into the one he fell in love with so strongly while in Africa. One way in which he's done so is by incorporating musicians from both sides of this coin. LA luminaries are featured throughout, as are African contemporaries he encountered throughout his travels. Sudan Archives gives a show-stealing vocal performance on "Gold", while the Ethiopian producer Endeguena Mulu adds impenetrable and psychedelic texture to the album's title track. So Bahir finds the polymath musician not stuck between two worlds, but as a member of both. We get Ethiopian jazz tonalities, Tuareg grooves, ekista dance rhythms, Afro-funk, Somalian soul, and forays into more contemporary jazz rhythms, too. Angelenos like Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and Josef Leimberg give the record it's backbone, while African artists like the Ethiopian singer Hamelmal Abate give Bahir it's glimmer and shine. Also features Kibrom Birhane, Jimetta Rose, Haile Supreme, and Marie Daulne. Perfect Replacement for Loofahs
Scent: White with Green Edge
I really like these myHomeBody Dual-Textured Exfoliating Washcloths. Where other options only have the roughness, this set has a soft side and a rough side. Having the soft side not only increases how far soap goes (these produce a ton of suds!), but also makes the towels easier to grip and use.
The rough side is the perfect roughness for replacing loofahs, and is great for exfoliating and managing things like keratosis pilaris.
I am so happy with these! I am definitely ordering more.

My new washcloth every time I shower at home or the gym
Scent: Gray
I initially used an Axe loofa with the scrub pad on one side and a plastic mesh on the other. However, I also wanted a washcloth to clean crevices such as ears, toes, and *other* parts. This product marries the two parts I want (cloth/scrub). The cloth side is soft for cleaning inside the ears, on eyelids, etc., and the scrub side is perfect for the rest of my skin and makes it smooth and healthy-looking. I use a fresh one every time I shower so there is no bacteria growth, and I use it when showering after gym workouts. Also, there's a loop on them so they can hang from the water handle when you're not using it.
I wash them with my regular laundry without damage to my clothes from the scrub side; just let them dry completely before placing them in the hamper so mold doesn't grow. I've had them for 6 months and they still look new, so it's worth the extra $ for that reason. My only suggestion is that they offer to sell them in packs of 5 or 7 at a lower price per washcloth, so it's cheaper to buy a week's set in one purchase.

If you're partial to mesh loofahs, get these instead!

Here I am, a 33 year-old guy and avid death metal fan. Writing reviews for, and getting excited about exfoliating shower cloths. I'm not sure what brought me to this point in life, but I'll attempt to share some wisdom now that I'm here.
Before these cloths entered my life, I was supremely dedicated to showering with traditional mesh loofahs. They had a good "scrub factor" and showering with bare soap bars or normal cotton wash cloths just made me feel like I was pushing soap around without actually getting clean. Well, I eventually got frustrated with having to keep a bunch of them stocked in the bathroom cabinets and the enormous amount of waste they produce. It's recommend to replace traditional mesh shower loofahs every 8 weeks, but uhhh.. who are we kidding? You'd be lucky to use one for half that length of time before the knot loosens up and it all unravels on you.
Enter: these things! These double-sided wash cloths take everything I enjoyed about mesh scrubbers and put it all into a different form-factor. Both the soft side and the exfoliating side make a rich lather with a minimal amount of body wash, which is something you WON'T get with regular wash rags. These cloths are strong, well-made, and mostly importantly they won't unravel into a pile of cheap plastic. Another advantage these have over regular cotton rags is that they're made of a quick-drying material, which makes it a lot harder for bacteria to harbor and grow. A thorough rinse along with a firm wringing to expel the excess water before hanging it up to dry, and you're good to go! One more advantage these have over loofahs and sponges is how much better the cloths are for getting into tighter spaces (I'm specifically referring to cleaning feet and in-between toes, but yes, it'll get THOSE areas nice and clean too) 👌.
At $20 for a 3-pack (on sale for $15 at the time of this review), these cloths are more expensive when compared to the cheap mesh loofahs that you can pick up for $2-3 a piece. But trust me when I tell you that these cloths will far out last even the most premium loofahs, and they clean infinitely better as well.
Give 'em a shot, and maybe one day you'll start getting excited about boring, dumb adult stuff too! 🤘

I like it just not the soft side

Now when I looking for cloths. I was looking for a face one. There was a photo here that showed a up close shot of the texture of the rough side... that's what made me get it. And I'm honestly happy that I did.
I literally just came out the shower. Im air drying while writing this lol. To talk about how it's worth the money getting this. Im surprise they don't have more ratings.
When you look at the video for this product it looks dramatic cause it is. Its meant to be. but when they actually mention details about the product...... its the honest truth.
The rough I love it. I actually feel like I have a new skin after rubbing all the dead skin off my body and used another one to rub my feet (never mix the two lol) so the rough side of the product has 100% 👍🏽 👍🏽 from me.
But the soft side. Ehh honestly it isn't for me if the soft side was a bit more rough. I would love it. But when I used it it felt like I was just rubbing batter on me or something like that.
If they made a glove version of this I would buy 1 for each day of the week lol. If they another cloth that didn't have such a soft side I'll buy that instead.
But honestly this product is amazing and worth the money they're asking form. Which isn't a lot. Believe me you'll feel better after that good scrub down... just be gentle at certain areas and on your neck.
I'm going to buy the actual face one from this company on my next pay check. So worth it
